Bat Outta Hale has been crafting and creating props and armor since he was a child. He started out using only cardboard and duct tape to create various props and armor pieces. It wasn’t until 2014 when he found what an amazing medium EVA foam is. From that point he discovered cosplay and began working more and more with foam, honing my craft and learning different techniques to get the most out of foam.

 

The following year, 2015 is when he stepped up my game and began going to conventions more regularly. Then learning about cosplay contests, he knew he had to push his skill to improve and to be able to compete with all of the amazing cosplayers.

 

While he learned new techniques working with foam, he felt a desire to share with others what he had learned. So he started his YouTube channel as well as his Etsy shop; where he sells digital downloads of his templates for those who want to get into the craft have a good starting point and solid tutorials to increase their knowledge of foamsmithing.

 

Within the past two years he has placed in multiple cosplay contests and taken “Best In Show” more than once. He strives to share his knowledge as often as he can to those who seek it. "Always remember, there are no mistakes in cosplay, only battle damage!"
